Dark Hair and Hippie Friends
I've decided to start out each blog entry with some interesting link... just so that people who don't give a crap about me can still come to this site and have something to do. So here it is:
Bush Flash
While I am a liberal democrat I do not entirely agree with the extent this movie goes to in bashing Bush, but it did make me think a bit more deeply about a few areas of his presidency. It also reminded me of a few past decisions that led me to further dislike him as a leader. Other than that it goes a bit off the deep end.
For those of you who don't appreciate my politics, check out this game:
Line Rider
Everyone I've shown it to thus far has really enjoyed it. Its a flash game that lets you draw the path the character rides on. If you want to understand the full range of the game, enter "line rider" into the search area of YouTube and check out what some people have done with this seemingly simple piece of flash. Its surprisingly addicting and intuitive... well at least once the author adds the eraser function he's been promising. Its hosted by a site called Deviant Art, which has quite a bit of neat stuff hanging about the place.
So.... at work today the Art Dept. got shit on... not in a malicious way though... more to the fact that we got inundated with work. Its nice in a way, because it means we are finally coming out of our slow period which falls from Labor Day to Columbus Day. Let the pre-Christmas overtime earning bonanza begin!
Also, I went to a fantastic Halloween party Saturday. While I didnt know many of the people that were there, most of them were extremely friendly and I wound up spending most of my night playing darts , shooting pool, and getting drunk with a bunch of laid-back strangers. A big shout out to the men's Flip-Cup team is in order.... as we have proved once again that men are at least superior in important things like drinking games. Oh yeah.... and another thing.... that "temporary" spray on hair coloring is a little more permanent than some may think. While my hair isnt necessarily black two days later.... it is much darker than before I geared up for the party as a Fat James Bond.
I'll leave you with a parting thought.... something creepy I discovered tonight while having a cigarette outside the shop. We share our building right now with the Bennington Democratic Headquarters... and while I understand that most stereotypes are based in truth... why is it that every volunteer in that place is either under 30 or smells of patchouli oil?
